AdaniMining Pty Ltd is proposing to develop a 60Mtpa thermal coal mine in the northGalilee Basin approximately 160km northwest of the town of Clermont in CentralQueensland.  All coal will be transportedby rail via a privately-owned line connecting to the existing Aurizon railinfrastructure at Moranbah, and shipped through coal terminal facilities at thePort of Abbot Point and the Port of Hay Point (Dudgeon Point expansion).  The Carmichael Coal Mine will have anoperating life of about 90 years.

Ministry of Coal, Government of India has allocated various coal blocks to non-CIL, Government and Private companies under Captive Mining Policy to meet the coal requirements of end use projects in steel, power and cement sector and also for commercial mining by state mining corporations.
